Murka kicked up a bit of sand as he wandered the hot dunes of Tanaris. He could almost imagine the cool shade of the lumbing mountains just on the outskirts of the desert. Thoughts of the Sandfury tribe causing him to wince as he remembered his father: Fon’jin, a servant under Chief Ukorz Sandscalp and leader of a nomadic group of dark shaman who wandered the desert looking for a pack of ghost wolves. Outcasting himself from the Sandfury did not worry Murka, though he would need to find food and water.
The day aged as he came upon a rocky cliff, a strong breeze crept up over the peeks of the dry rock, and a smell of damp foliage enticed Murka. He pressed his hand against the cliff, his callused fingers found a hold on the brittle stone as he pulled his feet off of the sand. Before he could adjust his weight to continue scaling the rock a dark blast appeared close enough to the right side of his head that his tusks vibrated violently. He lost his balance and turned in mid air as he landed back onto the sand. Two Sandfury Witch Doctors, dressed in dark silk robes with small animal skulls tied to dangling strings, arched their arms down as they summoned another dark bolt of shadow energy. Murka quickly drew his blade and dodged one radiating bolt as it smashed against the rock behind him. He lunged at one witch doctor, kicking him in the face as he spun angrily slicing the arm off the second just before his shadow bolt was finished. The summoned shadow energy, unable to be completed by the now injured witch doctor, pulsed and exploded. The energy pushed open the witch doctors torso, the force from the blast sent both pieces of the troll into the sand. “joo pays fo dat ssSul’Thraze!” spoke the Sandfury Witch Doctor as he began running away from the carnage. Murka paused and repeated the name in his head ‘Sul’Thraze’ a term that ment ‘lashing blade’. It was a rare thing to be named something out of the ordinary for the Sandfury, and Murka liked this name. from that moment out he was known as Sul’Thraze.
Sul’Thraze climbed the sand crags slowly, occasionally the rock would break lose and he would have to act fast before he painted the bottom of the ledge with his blood. As he reached the top he only had a moments notice before a large bird swooped past him, almost knocking him off the rock. Its calls where raspy and echoed along the cliff. The encounter startled Sul’Thraze and almost threw him off balance. The reptilian looking bird flew out over the cliff and glided across the desert sands. Sul’Thraze had never seen such a creature before, and wondered how often it visited the desert. The sweet smell of plants continue to draw Sul as he pushed himself up over the mountain ridge. He feasted his eyes on a lush tropical wonderland, a sight he had only heard about by the seers of his tribe. He almost stumbled over the jagged stone as he brought himself to the other side of the mountain and began scaling down.
The night came and went, the trees emanated shrill animal noises, large scaled beasts passed slowly though the swamp like terrain ripping large leaves off with their strange mouths. He held his sword out, swinging the blade against vines, carving himself a path through the wilderness. It wasn’t long before he heard Zandali, he sniffed the air and crouched down behind a tree watching a group of war painted warriors sitting in front of a fire. These trolls where physically different, mostly because their skin was not burnt by the sun, and their hands and feet weren’t as badly callused. They growled more at each r. Sul stepped forward out from behind the bush, unaware that his most dangerous foe could in fact be another troll. The warriors jumped to their feet and drew their swords. Sul held up his hands, dropping his sword “brudahss…” he spoke. The three warriors relaxed and looked him over, immediately noticing the blade lying out of reach amongst the forest moss. They spoke in a strange dialect, mostly grunts and growls, consoling with each other before all three of them looked at Sul again.
“joo be dat craz’eh kizork dat took down two Sandfury Witch Doct’ahs yesta’deh!” one blurted out.
“an ‘chu a sandfurr’eh?” another growled.
“Ah lef’da tribe… ah be alone nao…” Sul spoke calmly, still holding his hands in the air.
The three trolls laughed, almost in unison. “Den why not join da horde brudah!? We be welcom’en all da lona’s an out’casts. ‘elp us fight agains da Alliance, we alread’eh kno’chu be good wit da sword.”
Sul relaxed and smiled “ah’d like dat.”
One of the trolls throws Sul a rope "e'ah. not all da horde be welcom'en ya, so joo start by work'en ta gain tha fav'ah o Fon'dagek."
Sul looked at the rope in his hand. the sharp fibers gave its weight a sense of strong tangibility, Sul saw this as his new life a new beginning. Sul grabbed the rope and pulled strongly.
The group of trolls walked into the camp dragging large heavy lumber along with strong woven ropes. Doors of the lumber fort slowly swung open as a large male orc walked out accompanied by a tall old troll. The troll darted his eyes immediately toward Sul searching his features. Sul nodded toward the old troll in a respectful manor though the troll did not move as his eyes fixed upon Sul's. Uneasy, Sul shifted his weight.
