Back when Chief Urkoz Sandscalp’s great great grandfath’ah be very young. Der be a tale of a new warrior train’en ta become a fearsome blood drink’ah.
Da Shamans sent ‘em out ta commune wit da spirits.

Da Wind spirit reached fort’ an grabbed da warrior by ‘is head and flung ‘im far inta tha desert. The warrior landed break’en ‘is bodeh in many places, an he could not move.
Da winds of tha desert be harsh, seek’ing ta bury ‘im. Tho off in tha distance der be a heavy breath’en. The sound of paws stalk’n the sand.
A large spotted dog walked before him. Ets coat red as the sett’en sun. dark matted hair arched across ‘is back. The dog looked hungr’eh.
The warrior turned ‘is head know’en dis was ‘is fate.
The dog spoke.
“brudah… joo be need’en ‘elp?” said tha dog wit a smile.
The warrior only grunted. ‘e bairly able ta move.
Tha dog knew and was clev’ah. ‘e spoke “I help joo… but ah collect mah payment in seven years.”
The warrior nodded foolishly.
The dog grabbed ‘em by ‘is coll’ah and dragged ‘im ten mile to an oasis. There tha dog cleaned ‘is wounds and gave ‘im watah. Then vanished.
The warrior awoke ta find ‘e felt bett’eh. ‘e stayed in dat oasis until ‘e be right ta walk tha distance home.
When he got home his wounds where regarded as trophies. The warrior was welcomed with honor.
Fo seven years tha warrior fought brav’eh fo tha tribe. Protect’en the secrets of tha desert, and look’en after the tribe with pride.
The time came fo ‘im ta pick a bride. He sought afta’ the most beautiful female the tribe ever seen
the Chieftain’s daught’ah.
Pride fill’ed him. Glory, beauty, and hope. The female loved him so, and he’d protect ‘er with ‘is life.
The night befo’ da wedd’en the female was sent out wit a group o females ta get wat’ah.
Deh came across an old begg’ah en tattered robes. Little be they kno’ it be tha spotted dog in disguise.
The dog spoke “sissta… ah be need’en healing. Mah wife be very sick, I fear she be die’n.” the bride ta be told the other females to run to the tribe to get help.
She promised the old begg’ah she would help carry his wife. Dat was tha las’ time she be seen…
When help returned she an tha begg’ah be vanished.
The warrior knew et be the spotted dog, fo ‘e said ‘e be back ta collect.
rage filled the warrior, ‘e went berserk mon. he swore to da Chieftain dat ‘e search tha desert, an nev’ah return until da Chieftain’s daught’ah be home safe.
